Teachers

Todd and Naomi (USA)

Naomi Uyama and Todd Yannacone discovered their love for Lindy Hop years ago on opposite ends of the country, but after coming together as partners last year they immediatly swept the champion titles at the 2005 American Lindy Hop Championships, Ultimate Lindy Hop Showdown, US Open Swing Dance Championships, and the 2006 Rhythmic Arts Festival. When they're not competing you can find them on the social dance floor, where their emphasis on lead and follow is complemented by their attention to the music.

Fabrice and Geraldine (FRA)

Again we are happy to announce that the excellent teachers Fabrice and GÈraldine from Toulouse will be teaching at Winterjump. They are widely known as the star couple of many International Festivals. Their mix of incredible dynamism with lots of smooth variations is something that makes them so unique.

Dan and Jessica (UK) and (SWE)

Jessica lives in Stockholm, Sweden and has been passionate about dancing for many years. She started to dance the 'Swedish Bugg' in 1990 and moved on with Doublebugg and Boogie Woogie. She then became interested in Lindy Hop and in recent years she has also fell in love with Balboa too. She is an experienced competitor who first became a member of the Swedish national Boogie Woogie team in 1999. Amongst her achievements she was two times World Champion and Swedish Champion in Boogie Woogie (2002-2003). Jessica has been teaching as well as competing for several years and she is well known for her fast feet. She has performed at many events and has also appeared on a couple of Swedish TV shows.

Based in London, Dan specializes in Afro American partner dances and vernacular Jazz from the 1920 to 1940s. He is a respected dance historian as well as being a teacher and performer of the dances. His particular specialties are Lindy Hop, Balboa and Charleston. Balboa is a particular passion of his that he's made a significant contribution towards popularising in the UK and across Europe. He is Britain's busiest teacher of Balboa and teaches the dance regularly at his own classes and others events around the country. In Lindy Hop he is widely considered as one of the best dancers in Britain and is a former UK Lindy Hop Champion. Over the years he has become a popular guest teacher at many dance events across the UK and internationally. He has taught or performed in France, Sweden, Spain, Germany, Netherlands, Czech Republic, Switzerland, Ireland, Singapore, New Zealand, Australia, and the USA. He has also appeared in various media including the Times and Telegraph newspapers, Hello magazine, Radio 4, BBC1, BBC3, and Channel 4 television. Dan has a relaxed and light hearted teaching style.
